STEVE WOOLRIDGE - Chief Instructor of Krav Maga, Kansas City
Steve’s background includes more than 25 years of martial arts and teaching experience, as well as six years of military service. While in the United States Air Force, Steve served as a foreign language specialist in an elite electronic combat unit. Due to the high-security nature of his position, he received extensive training in various survival, escape and evasion tactics.
His Krav Maga and martial arts background includes:
-First Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga (fewer than 50 in the U.S. in 2006)
-Krav Maga Civilian Law Enforcement Instructor
-First Degree Black Belt in Chuan Fa (Chinese Kenpo)
Steve has a strong wrestling background, has boxed and studied Jiu Jitsu. He was the first certified Krav Maga instructor in Kansas City, receiving his Instructor Certification in January 2001.
In October 2001, Steve established the Krav Maga & Fitness Center in Lenexa, Kansas. Well known for his endless energy, in-depth knowledge and entertaining teaching style, Steve has taught Krav Maga to hundreds of adults and children in the Kansas City area.
Constantly seeking knowledge to ensure the best training for both himself and his students, Steve frequently travels nationwide for seminars and training events. He has participated in Krav Maga weapon defense seminars in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC. He’s also completed a 2-day tactical shooting course taught by the top tactical trainer for the LAPD SWAT team (International Tactical Training Seminars, Inc.)
Steve has been interviewed about Krav Maga by local TV, radio, and newspaper publications, including Channels 4, 5, 9 and 41, Kansas City Star, Sun Publications, Kansas City Sports Page and the Jewish Chronicle. His radio interviews include Stations 93.3, 98.9, Star 102, 96.5, and 8.10 Sports Talk and V100.3 in Topeka. In the January 2003 Los Angeles Times, Steve was pictured with Krav Maga U.S. Chief Instructor Darren Levine in an article about Darren. Nationally, Steve had a cameo appearance in the October 2, 2004, episode of 48-Hours -an episode which featured U.S. Chief Instructor Darren Levine.
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR BENNY COHEN - Self-Defense
Benny has been training in Krav Maga since his service in the Israeli military with the Givati brigade (Desert Marine Recon). It was here he first trained in Krav Maga at the prestigious Wingate Institute. Benny has traveled around the world training in martial arts including Karate-Do in Japan and Thai Boxing in Thailand. Here in the States, he has training in Bushidokan and Kenpo.
SHAWN OLD - Self-Defense
Shawn has been training Krav Maga since 2014 and has been an instructor since 2016. He has extensively trained one-on-one with chief instructor Steve Woolridge for many of those years. Shawn has always had a intense interest and passion for martial arts and weapons. As a kid, he even went to the Junior Olympics for fencing. Later in life, Shawn got interested in more practical "street level" weapons and compulsively studied and trained close quarters knife tactics. "...but there was always a piece missing; it's great if you know what to do with a weapon in hand, but what about getting to your weapon and retaining it while someone is trying as hard as they can to stop you or kill you? I knew in order to be a complete warrior, I needed a hand to hand system to take my training to that next level. Specifically, a hand to hand system that was fast to learn & easy to understand, yet practical, reliable, and real-world tested. Krav maga was that next level."
DOM CANTU - Self-Defense/Fight
Dom has a background in wrestling and has been training with Steve for 8 years. He trained as a cage fighter and continues to teach self-defense.
RUSSELL DAWKINS - Conditioning/Self Defense
Russell has been training in Krav Maga since 2005 and became a Krav Maga instructor in 2009. In addition to Krav Maga training, Russell attained Brown Belt in Shotokan Karate and Brown Belt in Okinawan Kenpo Karate. Russell discussing Krav Maga: “In the back of my mind, I always felt that something was lacking in my other martial arts disciplines. Were the techniques practical and effective for actual street situations requiring self-defense? In that type high stress situation, would I even remember which of 8 different ‘knife stab’ defenses to use? I remember losing a sparring tournament to someone that barely tapped me with a snap round house kick to the body, they scored the point before I could punch their face in; I thought to myself, ‘There’s gotta be something better than this!!’ Did my research, attended the next available Krav Into session, and I’ve been hooked ever since.”
ADONUS RAY - Self Defense
Adonus has trained with Steve since 2013. He has studied Shotokan Karate, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Panantukan, and Boxing. The traditional martials arts led him to a crossroads, questioning the cognitive application and approach to self-preservation and survival in real world situations. WES MORRIS - Conditioning
Wes has been a student in Krav Maga since 2009, initially attending classes during visits home from Kansas State University. Since graduation he has returned to Kansas City to further his professional pursuits and has used the opportunity to dedicate himself to training in self-defense, combative techniques, and physical training.
Wes carries an extensive and eclectic background in athletic pursuits. A four-time marathon finisher, triathlete, soccer player, and an avid rock climber; his introduction to martial arts and self-defense came through the Military Combatives (Level 1 Certified Instructor) - teaching concepts of Jiu-Jitsu to US Army, Air Force, and Marine combatants.
As a fitness instructor, as well as an “ever-aspiring” athlete, Wes never wants to leave well enough alone. An avid reader and researcher, he is constantly looking for ways to improve fitness physically and psychologically, and is looking for ways to improve body function to support these pursuits. Improving health, mobility, and cognitive function are paramount to building a body that can handle incredible feats of athleticism. The body can’t do anything without the mind.

CORINNE MOSHER - Chief Firearms Training Instructor
Corinne leads the Krav Maga/Firearms Integrated Seminars along with Steve. As a professional 3-Gun shooter, she has taken home several titles including 2016 USPSA Area 3 Overall High Lady, 2016 USPSA Area 6 Multi-Gun Limited Division Champion, 2015 3-Gun Nation Nationals Top Factory Lady, 2016 Top Factory Lady at the Colt USPSA Multi-Gun Nationals, Top Lady in Limited Division at the 2016 Surefire World Multi-gun Championships and most recently earned High Lady at the 2017 Red Oktober Championship. She has also been featured on The Sportsman’s Channel’s The Big Gun: Ladies First, Season 5 of Colion NOIR on NRATV and is a regular contributor to industry magazines and online publications.
